How to apply for the Quebec Green Home Grant.

The government is encouraging Canadians to make their homes more efficient, comfortable and affordable by making them more energy efficient. In addition to being environmentally friendly, this initiative was launched to create new jobs for energy advisors and to combat climate change.

Claim your EnerGuide before and after retrofit evaluations

Up to $600 reimbursement for the cost of pre- and post-renovation assessments.

Both of these evaluations are required in order to receive a rebate, and you will need to complete at least one of the renovations that is both eligible and recommended by your energy advisor in their report in order to receive a rebate.

Leave the ENERGY STAR labels on until the inspection is complete, after renovation.

Important

A new window can be installed in the existing frame of an old window

Replacement of glass, sash or frameless door is not eligible.

A maximum of $250 will be awarded per gross opening, up to a maximum of $5000.

If you qualify for a grant under the Canada Green Housing Grant initiative, you may receive a total rebate of up to $5,000 for the renovations. You may choose to make more than one renovation, but in any case, the maximum rebate will not exceed $5,000 in total.

Eligible homeowners must go through the provincial grant program for energy-efficient renovations, Renoclimat.

• Replace an oil furnace with a high-efficiency furnace or heat pump.
• rReplace air-permeable doors and windows.
• Improve the insulation of the walls, the basement or the roof.
• Install a high efficiency water heater.
• Install solar panels.

Homeowners can receive up to $5,600 in total through this initiative, $600 for the energy assessment and $5,000 for the renovations.
